A NOTE FROM OUR PASTOR

Welcome to the Pastor’s Page and thank you for visiting our site, I hope you find your visit here pleasant. I’m a native of this area and have been associated with the Congregational Holiness Church most of my life. I grew up in ministry under the anointed preaching of the well known Rev. Jake Norris as a young child and it was there that I began to work in music ministry at a very young age. After a period of running from the Lord and then finding my way back to a vibrant personal relationship with Him I answered the call to preach. After several years of working in music ministry and evangelism I licensed in July of 2011 and in August of 2015 began to Pastor here at FCHC. Alongside me is my wife Lisa of 19 years and together we are pressing toward the mark of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. We are seeing a great move of God and would love to have you join us here if your intentions are to be a part of a unified church on the move as God leads us from victory to victory. Again, thank you for visiting our site and we hope to see you soon.

OUR CHURCH'S HISTORY

In 1924, a small group of people from Gainesville’s Holiness Mission met and voted to establish a church of their own.  This church was to eventually become Gainesville First Congregational Holiness Church.

Great things have happened since that group of 30 people began to meet in the home of Mrs. Mattie Camp. Reverend Eddie Blake and his sister, Miss Pinky Blake, pastored that small mission and the people caught a vision.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the First C. H. Church is to spiritually transform, develop and empower the community as we strive to disciple Christians for the Kingdom of God.  We seek to accomplish our mission with the spirit of excellence using the examples imaged in the scriptures. With the power of Holy Spirit, synergy of being in one mind and one accord, we will be light to a world in darkness.

OUR VISION

As the Body of Christ we seek to exercise our spiritual gifts for the edification of the church, to spread the Gospel, and make disciples for Jesus Christ in our community.

(Isaiah 41: 10 NKJV)

“Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

WHAT WE BELIEVE
